Rubye Del Harden's journey from aspiring high school band director to a multifaceted business owner and entrepreneur is a testament to life's unpredictability. While her initial dream was solely focused on a career in music education, her path took unexpected turns that led her to remarkable accomplishments.
After earning her degree in instrumental music education, Rubye Del realized her dream of becoming a high school band director. Yet, her career ventured into diverse territories, including teaching fifth grade, instructing college-level courses in psychology and sociology, and eventually venturing into entrepreneurship.
Her entrepreneurial endeavors encompassed owning and operating four newspapers, managing several others, running a printing company, and even establishing a ballroom dance studio. In her impressive 40-year involvement in the newspaper industry, Rubye Del's contributions extended beyond business ownership. She served on the board of directors of the Mississippi Press Association, where she achieved the distinction of becoming its second female President.
Throughout her career, she initiated and facilitated community leadership programs across the state, empowering individuals to lead and make positive changes in their communities. Her dedication to personal growth and leadership development led her to create Success Skills, a program originally designed for women but with universal appeal.
In her retirement from the newspaper business, Rubye Del continues to channel her energy and expertise into new ventures. She now owns SprintPrint of Tupelo and The Dance Studio of Tupelo, where she dedicates her time to organizing events that revolve around dance and arts education.
